چکیده

OBJECTIVES: This study aims to determine the prognostic significance of lymphocyte/mean platelet volume ratio (LMR) in terms clinical course disease patients with COVID-19. METHODS: Patients over 18 who were evaluated for COVID-19 during period from April 1, 30, 2020 retrospectively scanned. at least 1 positive PCR test result as assigned Group while negative results 2. The LMR was calculated by dividing lymphocyte value that MPV. relationship between LMR, severity patients' CT findings and 28-day mortality evaluated. RESULTS: A total 938 included study. It observed levels significantly different those died within 28 days (p < 0.001, p ≤ 0.001). In ROC analysis level, area under curve (AUC) found be 0.737 (95% CI 0.639‒0.834). When cutoff 0.045, sensitivity 99.0 % specificity 15.2 %. CONCLUSION: can a guide multiple cases care provided critical patients, is case pandemic used recognizing (Tab. 5, Fig. Ref. 21).

Ratio of mean platelet volume to platelet count is a potential surrogate marker predicting liver cirrhosis

AIM To provide a simple surrogate marker predictive of liver cirrhosis (LC). METHODS Specimens from 302 patients who underwent resection for hepatocellular carcinoma between January 2006 and December 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. Based on pathologic findings, patients were divided into groups based on whether or not they had LC. Parameters associated with hepatic functional reserve were...

The Prognostic Role of Mean Platelet Volume (MPV) in Sever Sepsis: is it True?

Background: The purpose of the present study was to examine the role of mean platelet volume (MPV) in comparison with Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA), quick SOFA (qSOFA), and Mortality in Severe Sepsis in the Emergency Department (MISSED) scoring systems in predicting hospital mortality among patients with severe sepsis. Methods: This follow-up stud...

Volume, Conductivity and Scatter parameters of Neutrophils in Neonatal Sepsis – Is it a Cost-Effective Tool?

Background: Early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis is quite challenging. I/T ratio (immature to mature neutrophil ratio) is a highly sensitive marker of sepsis but is time-consuming and subjective. Off late, volume conductivity and scatter (VCS) of neutrophils are among the newer parameters available for screening a septic neonate. This study aimed to determine the correlation between the I/T ratio...

Mean platelet volume/platelet count ratio is associated with prognosis in patients with pancreatic cancer

An increased mean platelet volume (MPV) is recognized as an early marker of platelet activation. The diagnostic and prognostic impact of the MPV and MPV/platelet count (PC) ratio in some cancers has recently been reported. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic significance of preoperative MPV/PC ratio in pancreatic cancer. A total of 124 pancreatic cancer patients were included i...
